Project Details

The same was true when we recently took on the task of cleaning and painting a 100,000 square-foot ceiling for a large manufacturing plant. Our steps included:

• Cleaning - We accomplished this partially with compressed air and partially by hand. This sounds tedious, but surface preparation is hugely important before a quality paint job
• Protection - The tricky part about working on a ceiling is that what goes up (dirt, debris, and dust) must come down. We carefully tarped off the delicate machinery below to catch any of the unwanted particles!
• Paint - We used white, dry fall paint on the trusses and ceiling. Dry fall is an ideal product for this sort of application as any extra paint dries nearly instantly and falls to the ground as an easily cleaned up dust.

Why white paint? Painting a ceiling white increases reflectivity by 83-88%, making for a brighter, cleaner, and ultimately more productive atmosphere.

Scheduling for Convenience

As we said above, our goal is to not be in your way. For this project we worked nights and weekends, allowing production to roll on unhindered. In fact, we cleaned up after ourselves every night right before the morning shift arrived. It was all worth it, though, and the customer was thrilled with the results! We now have three more ceilings scheduled for completion for this same client!
