Client and Facility Overview
Our client, a plastics manufacturer located in Dallas-Fort Worth, Texas, has been a major player in the industry for several years.
Requested Maintenance
Epoxy flooring installation in the breakroom. The client was looking for a durable, aesthetically pleasing, low maintenance flooring system to replace the failing system previously installed by another contractor.
Decision Driver and Timing
The previous contractor's inadequate preparation of the substrate resulted in a failing epoxy flooring system, prompting the client to seek a more reliable solution. Adding to the urgency was the need to maintain a comfortable and safe break room environment for employees.
Scope of Work
- Surface Preparation: Removed the existing epoxy floor using the On Floor Diamond Grinder to both eradicate the failing coating and reveal the original concrete surface.
- Repairs: Addressed any cracks wider than 1/8" and spalls larger than a quarter to ensure a smooth base.
- Flooring Application: Applied one coat of Sherwin Williams General Polymers 3746 Epoxy 100% Solids to provide a high-quality, durable finish.
