The project took place at one of Syngenta's remote facilities in Minnesota. This site features several metal silos, catwalks, and support structures that are essential to their operations.
Requested Maintenance
The primary objective was to paint the metal silos, apply logos, and paint all catwalks and support structures. Because of our previous successful work with Syngenta in Illinois, Iowa and Nebraska, we were well prepared to meet their high expectations.
Driving Factors
Consistency in branding and quality of work across multiple locations was crucial for Syngenta. Our ability to provide uniform service and maintain high standards made us the preferred choice for this project.

Scope of Work
- Surface Preparation:
- Used a 6,000 psi pressure washer to remove all visible oil, grease, soil, loose rust, weld splatter, and other soluble contaminants.
- Removed pack rust with power tool cleaning.
- Painting Process:
- Applied two coats of a two-part epoxy for a secure base.
- Used a two-part urethane for the topcoat to ensure durability and longevity.
- Protection and Safety:
- Carefully masked and protected all unpainted items with tarps, including galvanized stairs.
- Used OSHA-approved tie-off systems, with certified aerial lift operators to ensure safety.
- Documentation:
- Provided technical data and Safety Data Sheets (SDS) for all the products used.

Safety First
Ensuring safety was a priority throughout the project. We adhered to OSHA guidelines, used proper PPE, and had certified operators managing the aerial lifts.

Despite the remote location in Minnesota, we leveraged our nationwide presence to provide the same level of expertise and quality, demonstrating our ability to handle projects in diverse and challenging environments.
