Our long-time client, located in Hodgkins, Illinois, is in the industrial sector and has relied on Painters USA for several projects over the years. Recently, they turned to us for critical updates and improvements to their warehouse infrastructure.
Requested Maintenance
The client requested a comprehensive overhaul of their warehouse insulation coupled with targeted painting to rejuvenate the overall space. This included:
- Replacement of damaged and outdated insulation
- Thorough cleaning of the affected wall areas
- Painting the lower wall section
- Spraying support beams with industrial enamel
- Painting a trial section of the ceiling
Decision Driver and Timing
The primary driver for this project was the deteriorating condition of the existing insulation. The torn and tattered insulation not only compromised the aesthetic appeal of the warehouse but also its functional efficiency by allowing contaminants and moisture to breach the space.

Scope of Work
Painters USA undertook a systematic approach to the project, ensuring minimal disruption and maximum efficiency:
- Containment Setup: We established a floor-to-ceiling plastic containment system to prevent dust and debris from spreading into other areas of the warehouse.
- Old Insulation Removal: The old insulation was carefully removed and disposed of properly.
- Comprehensive Cleaning: Utilizing various techniques including blowing, brushing, vacuuming, sweeping, and wiping, we meticulously cleaned the walls to prepare them for insulation and paint.
- Wall and Beam Painting: The lower four feet of the wall were painted before new insulation installation to avoid any overspray issues. We also refreshed the support beams with a bright white industrial enamel.
- New Insulation Installation: Installation of new insulation ensued, with seams sealed using reflective tape to prevent moisture and contaminant ingress.
- Ceiling Painting: A 15’ x 30’ section of the ceiling was painted at the client’s request to provide a preview of potential full-ceiling refurbishment in the future.
Notable Detail: Trial Ceiling Painting
A noteworthy aspect was the trial ceiling painting, offering the client a glimpse of the potential transformation a full ceiling refurbish would bring, likely leading to further future engagements.
