Firehouse floors need to hold up to heavy use, from hot tires and large vehicles to regular washing and foot traffic. Painters USA provides the tough flooring solutions that are needed for a firehouse or volunteer fire station.
At Painters USA, one of our preferred products for firehouse floors and similar applications is V-8 flooring. What is needed is a strong epoxy coating that will not be damaged by hot tires, and will not grow mold or mildew with frequent exposure to water.
There are many other advantages to V-8 and similar flooring. One is that it has zero-VOC's, meaning it is nearly odorless. Also, it is a very fast-curing formula, so that the whole process can be completed in one day. Finally, V-8 epoxy flooring can be applied in nearly any temperature, including below freezing.
The installation process for V-8 and other epoxy flooring begins with cleaning. We begin with either bead-blasting or grinding with a diamond blade to clean and prepare the surface for quality adhesion. Painters USA is also equipped for concrete crack repair and expansion joint rebuilding. We then apply the epoxy coating, and finally a protective finish. There are also a number of possible additives to epoxies, including anti-slip and anti-microbial properties.
