Commercial Roof Painting in Chicago
It’s not uncommon for us to be called back by the same clients for different projects, and that is something we’re proud of here at Painters USA. It’s one thing to be chosen for a commercial or industrial painting project for the first time, but quite another to be the first name that comes to mind when another need arises.
We recently were called back by a large commercial property management company for the 14th time! It was our pleasure to answer the call once again.
Repainting and Updating the Color Scheme of a Metal Roof
Before we dig into the process of transforming the exhausted coatings on this metal roof, we need to point out that, as always, safety was a major focus. Our boom lift operators are trained and certified, and we used safety harnesses, hard hats, safety glasses, and steel toe shoes at all times. As you can see in the photos above, we also set up cones by the boom lift to warn motorists that workers were present.
Now, back to the process!
- First, we pressure washed the surface with our industrial-grade units, blasting away dirt, debris, and the old coating. We didn’t want anything to get in the way of the new paint’s successful adhesion.
- We power-tooled the remainder of the loose paint by hand.
- Before painting, we applied a coat of Sherwin-Williams’ Bond Plex metal bonding primer.
Not only does this new paint look fantastic, but we also changed the color to better match the rest of the structure. It’s definitely an improvement, isn’t it?
