As a case in point, this particular project was completed for a client we have been privileged to serve for over a decade. We have supplied a number of services for them over the years, including epoxy floor application, concrete polishing, and painting their warehouses and offices. Quite a diverse list!

Most recently, we were asked to pour a large concrete storage area outside their facility, complete with curbs and walkways. Our specialized concrete division, Redimere Surface Solutions, was more than up to the task.

Pouring a Concrete Storage Area

Here’s a closer look at what the process included:

• We poured an 8” thick curb and walkway on the west and south ends of the facility (13,000 sq ft of new concrete in all)
• The existing storm drain needed to be elevated to line up with the new storage area
• Installed structural reinforcement at all the construction joints
• Applied a curing agent
• Cut control joints
• Caulked all joints

We also applied a broom finish texture. This finishing technique creates a unique surface texture without sacrificing any of the aesthetic or functional attributes of the concrete. While custom designs can be added with this technique, the primary goal and benefit is to increase traction. Especially for exterior concrete that is exposed to the elements, this extra bit of grip helps to facilitate a safer work environment for your team.
