Moving always involves a lot of details, and especially in regard to preparing your new home to meet your family’s needs. This might include painting, cleaning, repairs, remodeling, and paying your friends to help with the official currency of moving: pizza.
Now imagine moving a business enterprise! The details are much the same as a personal move, just on a colossal scale. We recently had the chance to help a manufacturing facility as they prepared their new property in the Quad Cities (and no pizza was necessary). Take a look!
A Lot of Industrial Flooring Service in a Little Amount of Time!
While this new property did meet the needs of our client, the flooring needed some help before it could be considered ready for service. This work included:
- Filling floor joints - We have discussed the value of repairing and filling floor joints in a previous post (you can check that out here). In short, it creates an even, smooth, safe surface that is ready to stand up to the wear and tear of a manufacturing environment. For this project we used a polyurea system.
- Filled cracks and repaired spalls - These kinds of flooring failures are often caused by the expansion and contraction that comes from freeze/thaw cycles.
- Surface preparation - We ground the floors with our diamond grinder to create a receptive, fresh surface.
- Epoxy coating - To provide a layer of moisture-resistant durability, we applied a two-part epoxy floor system.
To make things just a bit more interesting, our deadline for work completion was very tight. We worked during their off-hours and over the weekend to finish the project quickly and not interfere with their own work schedule. We are more than willing to do this for our clients!
