Epoxy Floor Coating and Line Striping of a Parking Garage in Chicago

One of our clients, a nationally-known automotive service club, has asked us to complete a huge variety of tasks for them, ranging from painting corporate offices to outlying, satellite branches. Applying an Epoxy Floor System to a Parking Garage

Thanks to the harshness of Chicago winters, there are a variety of factors working against the flooring in our client’s fleet garage. Snow, mud, salt, and sand are continually ground into the surface, putting even the most durable flooring to the test. And, beyond that, the rise and fall of temperatures create a freeze/thaw cycle that is lethal for concrete over time.

This project called for a functional, strong, durable flooring system that could stand up to heavy traffic and nasty weather.

• To prepare the surface, we began by grinding the floor with our diamond-tipped grinder. This certainly helped to remove old, crumbling coatings, but it also created a smoother profile and opened the pores of the concrete to allow for a superior bond.
• We then filled in all cracks and spalled areas before laying down a penetrating epoxy primer.
• A coating of 100% Solids High Performance Epoxy was applied to the freshly-prepared, receptive floor.

Adding Safety Line Striping to the Garage Floor

With the beautiful new floor in place, we added 1,448 lineal feet of line striping with Safety Yellow enamel paint. Strong, bright, and assertive, these lines will keep this garage orderly and safe for years to come.
