Epoxy floor with line striping in heavy-duty manufacturing plant

And finally, their flooring issues were large-scale. Because of the tremendous strain that comes from a rumbling stream of heavy machinery and forklift traffic, the concrete was seriously damaged and in need of attention.
Our goal was to create a quality flooring solution that could stand up to the wear and tear it would face. We also wanted to work in a way that was conducive to their manufacturing schedule, allowing us to never get in the way of production. This involved working over two weekends.
Floor Preparation and Installing an Epoxy Coating System
Much in the same way that a successful painting project starts with sanding the surface to be painted, we opened up the pores of this floor with a diamond-tipped grinder. Next came the repair and application process:
- We patched cracks, holes, and spaws wherever needed
- We then laid down a coat of penetrating primer sealer
- The next step was to apply one coat of 100% solids epoxy in Silver Gray
- For safety and organization, we topped off the process with fresh safety lines/stripes and bin markings
What Can Adding Safety Lines and Bin Marking Do for You?
In this case, it allowed our client to be in line with their ISO9001 certification guidelines. If you are interested in becoming ISO9001 certified or comply with a Six Sigma (6S) program, lean manufacturing, or a Safe Quality Food Program, line striping and bin markings will be required throughout your facility.
