Industrial Cleaning Project at Ohio Auto Parts Manufacturing Plant

For Painters USA's latest blog project entry, we're happy to highlight a recent auto parts manufacturing facility project that involved industrial cleaning and painting.
This project was an interesting challenge for a couple of reasons. First of all, the facility hadn't been cleaned in 20+ years. This was a quite challenge in and of itself. It meant that all ceilings, walls, and machinery were coated in a thick layers of grease and oil because of the type of autoparts in manufacture at the facility. We also had to complete the project during second hour shifts (2:00pm - 10:00pm) because the plant is in operation during the first and second shifts. We're used to this sort of scheduling rigor, so it wasn't a problem.
To begin, we dry ice blasted the grease and oil off the ceilings and machinery. In the process, we discovered that hand-washing was a necessity, so as to completely clean the surfaces in the allotted time frame. The walls, on the other hand, only required degreasing, followed by painting. For this job, we applied a Macropoxy to the walls in order to safeguard them against oil penetration.
We're happy to report that the project came in on time and on budget, resulting in complete customer satisfaction. Check out the images above to get a sense of the scale and quality of the work.
Stay tuned for our next project blog entry.
