Revamping a Production Area by Cleaning and Painting Machinery and Polishing the Concrete Floor

Painters USA Team — Last updated January 16, 2023
We served this client last year by performing similar industrial painting and cleaning tasks. In order to honor their maintenance budget we divided the comprehensive project into prioritized pieces. Creatively adapting to your financial boundaries is something that we are happy to do here at Painters USA, ensuring that your needs are met in a way that adds no extra burden to you.
What exactly did this particular project involve?
Well, our attention was directed to the obvious need for industrial cleaning, painting, and flooring expertise.
Industrial Cleaning and Electrostatic Machinery Painting
As you can see in the photos above, our client’s machines and cabinets were almost completely consumed by oil, grease, and impacted debris. Not only does this look terrible, but it also inhibits routine cleaning and maintenance which, in turn, shortens the lifespan of the equipment. Cleaning and painting is a valuable way to care for your investments and ensure that you get the greatest possible use (and work hours) out of them.
- We began by cleaning with an oil and grease emulsifier to break down the existing layers of grime
- We then lightly sanded the surfaces before wiping them down with tac cloth
- The painting space was fully-encapsulated by covering all hoses, signs, controls, and the surrounding area with plastic
- We then electrostatically sprayed the surface with Inviropoxy
Are you familiar with the incredible process and benefits of electrostatic painting? If not, be sure to take a look here.
What Are the Benefits of Our Concrete Polishing Process?
Well, for a longer exploration of the process you can take a look at this page dedicated to all things concrete polishing. In short, the beauty of polishing is that there is no coating to apply, and therefore no worries about coating failure down the road. Also, by adding a concrete densifier as a step in the process, the concrete actually comes out harder and more durable than before.
In this case, after a thorough cleaning, we progressed from using 30/30 diamond and hand grinders to remove the existing epoxy to a much finer 800 grit diamond polisher for a final polish. The finished sheen was achieved with a high-speed burnish.
As we moved through the process we also patched any holes or cracks and added the densifier as well.
As you can see in the photos above, the transformations to these surfaces were drastic and satisfying. If the Painters USA team can answer any questions you might have about your own project, why not give us a call? It would truly be our pleasure to serve you!
