Takeaways from Kansas City
Painters USA participated in another successful GEAPS Exchange, held March 26-29, 2022, in Kansas City, Missouri. GEAPS is an acronym for Grain Elevator and Processing Society.
We connected with customers, answered questions about industrial cleaning, painting and flooring for the grain industry, and identified potential new clients and opportunities. We hosted a private event for 85-90 people, prompting Painters USA VP Paul Cook to decide to make it an annual event!

According to Sales Operations Manager Craig Nichols,
“This year’s event ranks among the best of all the Exchanges I’ve attended. After the pandemic shutdowns, it was like a reunion, with lots of enthusiasm for catching up with industry friends and colleagues.”
The GEAPS organization itself was also very happy with the show, with GEAPS Executive Director Steve Records quoted on World-Grain.com, “We had nearly 3,000 people show up, which puts it in the top three or four conferences attendance-wise that we’ve ever had."
Popular grain facility maintenance services
Along with the post-pandemic good vibe, the 2022 Exchange was productive in terms of meeting with decision makers responsible for keeping their silos, tanks, conveyors, and legs fully functional and well-maintained and introducing them to the services and capabilities of Painters USA such as abrasive blasting, epoxy flooring, and industrial coatings for roofs and other surfaces.
Show attendees were interested in our services for:
Services for failed inspections and facilities in any condition
As one example, Craig met representatives of a grain cooperative with facilities in southern Illinois and Indiana that has been lax in maintaining their grain storage and processing structures for the past couple of decades. After a failed inspection, the owners realized they needed a professional assessment of their facilities and maintenance priorities to begin the necessary work.
If you're part of a similar organization, unsure of what to do next or even feeling a bit sheepish or ashamed to reveal the poor condition of your facilities, rest assured that we have seen it all. We will assess your facility and offer our advice without judgment and without taking advantage of the situation.
Painters USA grain industry experience
Having completed hundreds of one-time and recurring maintenance projects over the years, we have a strong understanding of grain industry concerns, not only maintenance issues but third party audits and compliance with USDA, FSMA (Food Safety Modernization Act) and other FDA regulations.

With our headquarters in Illinois, part of the GEAPS “Corn Belt” region, the grain industry is an important market for Painters USA. We are assigning a new sales rep in central Illinois to become more involved in the organization’s Corn Belt Chapter.
Our strong commitment to GEAPS and the grain industry means you will continue to see Painters USA participation in the annual GEAPS Exchange.
