Northstar Aerospace® enhances worker safety and morale with help from Painters USA
No doubt your company is passionate and excited about the work you do and the value you provide, but is that passion reflected in your facilities?
Northstar Aerospace, located in suburban Chicago, realized that their plant could play a bigger role in worker safety and satisfaction to instill a stronger sense of passion and purpose within the company. According to Bruno Kolb, manager of Maintenance & Facilities for Northstar Aerospace:
“We’ve undertaken a series of painting and flooring projects to ensure our facility functions as well and looks every bit as good as the products we make.”
Northstar Aerospace typically operates six to seven days per week, throughout the year. Work was coordinated to coincide with two scheduled shutdowns to coat floors, paint equipment and walls throughout the production facility, and carry out safety line striping for areas including loading docks. In all, Painters USA completed seven painting and coating projects.
One of the reasons Northstar Aerospace chose Painters USA was a joint commitment to safety. According to Bruno, the components manufacturer empowers its employees, regardless of job function, to call out any safety issue and pause work, a practice shared with Painters USA.
